Personal Health Reprt Part 3 -- Conclusion and Reflection DUE WED MAY 11 AND THU MAY 12
Personal Health Report 3
Progress Report and Reflection
In your last paper (Part 2) you fine-tuned your goal(s) along the lines of achievability, being realistic, keeping it observable, and making it relevant to your daily life and changing priorities.
In this paper I’d like you to step back and look at the ‘big picture’. The two main themes I’d like you to address are:
1. What kind of quality of life do you want to have in 40 years?
2. What kind of man do you want to be in 40 years?
a. Alternately, what kind of men do you want to have in your life; what kind of men do you want to grow in your partners, your kids, etc?
Part 1
Recall the dimensions of health from our first classes
Address 3 - 4 domains;
Give specific examples:
What do you want in the (social domain, for example) of your life in 40years?
What do you want in the (physical domain, for example) in 40 years?
Please describe specifically how your current health project help get you there? How did what you learned from the project help you achieve these long-term goals. Be specific!
Part 2
Referring to the masculinity ideology and the general themes of healthy manhood explored in our class
What kind of man do you want to be in the coming 40 years?
How will you make this happen?
How has your personal health project this semester provided insights to your manhood and the kind of man you currently are and the kind of man you want to be?
(If you are a woman, address what kind of person you want to be. How can you help grow healthy men in your life -- family, kids, friends, partners...)
Write 2 - 3 pages, double-spaced, 1 inch margins, etc.
Essay format
Bottom line: This is your chance to tell me what you learned this semester and how you plan to apply it in the rest of your life (a day at a time...) Put some time, thought, and effort into this.
